How do I know which size to buy?
Our dresses, nightwear, rompers and cardigans generally fit “true to size”. Our classic smocked dresses will comfortably fit your child before and beyond the age range specified, as the sash tie at the back allows for adjustments to be made. Does Annafie offer a bespoke service for special occasions?
Yes! We are happy to work with you to create the perfect christening gown, bridesmaid dresses, confirmation or communion dresses, and page boy outfits for your special occasion. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
How should I care for my hand smocked and hand embroidered items?
We do our very best to design clothes that children can explore the world and have fun in. Our smocked clothes will last a lifetime and beyond if properly cared for! All our items can be machine washed on a delicate cycle at 30°C, ideally inside out to protect the smocking and embroidery, and only on a low centrifuge. Alternatively you can hand wash them, but please do not soak, bleach, rub or wring the item. We recommend line drying, and not using a tumble dryer.
By the way, each dress has an extra button stitched into the side seam.
For our silk dresses, we recommend dry cleaning. Please note that these consist of 100% raw silk, and that slight imperfections may occur as it is a natural fabric.
What do I have to do if I want to return an item?
We hope you are happy with your purchase, but if you are not, you can return your item to us. Please notify us of your intention to return your oder within 7 days of receiving it by emailing us at email@example.com.
Please note that items must be returned in new, unworn, unwashed and unused condition with the original garment tags still attached, and in appropriate packaging (ensuring the item is not damaged in transit) within 14 working days of receipt of the item. Annafie will not accept returns of non-faulty products that have been worn, used and/or with garment tags removed. Please note that bespoke items cannot be returned unless they are faulty.
Please note that Annafie is not liable for return postage costs. You will have to pay for returns (unless an item is faulty).
IF YOU ARE RETURNING ANY OF OUR PRODUCTS FROM ABROAD, PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU WRITE “RETURN – UNWANTED GB GOODS” ON YOUR CUSTOMS FORM. We will not take back parcels to which customs duty or import VAT are applied, and these parcels will be sent back to you.

We recommend that you return items via a recorded delivery service, as we cannot accept responsibility for any lost or damaged items. Your statutory rights are not affected by our returns policy.

How much will I be charged for delivery?
The standard delivery cost is £4.50 (within the UK), £10 (EU and USA) and £20 (rest of the world, incl. Norway and Switzerland). We also offer DHL Express delivery worldwide (£10 within the UK for Next Day delivery, £20 to Europe, £18 to the USA and £30 to the rest of the world). Please refer to our Delivery & Returns page for further details.
All orders over £150 are delivered free to mainland UK and Northern Ireland (this excludes the Channel Islands and the Scottish Highlands).
Will VAT be added to my order?
There is no VAT on children’s clothing, footwear (up to a certain size for girls and boys), belts or books (these are considered Zero rated in the UK). Hair accessories, gifts and toys carry VAT at the standard rate of 20%. Prices are shown inclusive of VAT where applicable.
Will custom charges be added to my order when ordering from overseas?
UK VAT is not due where the delivery is made to a destination outside the EU. We will declare all products within your delivery, however, if there are any import taxes, duties or handling fees due in the country of destination, these will be payable by the receiver. This means that you will be responsible for any customs, taxes or import duties once the package reaches your destination country. How will BREXIT effect my orders from the UK to the EU?
The good news is, we are still shipping to Europe!
However, since the 1st January 2021, orders from EU countries with an order value over €150 are now subject to import duty. Annafie pays all import taxes and duties on your behalf. Therefore, if you shop with us in Euros, your total will now be FULLY INCLUSIVE OF ALL DUTIES, TAXES AND CLEARANCE FEES, meaning that you will receive your order without any nasty surprises!
Please note that we have had to increase our delivery costs slightly and standard delivery to all European countries (except for Switzerland and Norway) is now £13.50.
